Booking and Vehicle Types

When choosing your vehicle on SunCars’ website, please note that the displayed models and makes are examples to highlight the potential options available. We aim to provide a vehicle that matches your selection in terms of category and features, but the exact model and make cannot always be guaranteed. Rest assured, you will receive a vehicle of the same class and with equivalent specifications.

Fuel and Mileage Policies

We operate on a simple fuel policy: return the vehicle with the same level of fuel as when it was picked up. There is no need for a fuel deposit. However a charge is levied should the car be returned with less fuel.

Payment Methods

Rentals can be settled with American Express, MasterCard, Visa credit cards, debit cards, or in cash (EUR) or cryptocurrency if agreed in advance.

International Travel

Vehicles may only cross borders between Portugal and Spain. If planning to travel between these countries, please inform us in advance.

Driver Eligibility

Drivers must be 21 years or older and possess a valid driver’s license for at least two years. For licenses issued outside the Latin alphabet, such as in Arabic, Greek, Russian, or Chinese, renters are required to present an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with their original license.

Additional Driver Policy

Extra drivers must meet the same criteria as the primary driver and be listed on the rental contract to ensure coverage under the same terms.

Accident Procedure

Should an accident occur, it’s obligatory to contact emergency services by calling 112 and to complete an accident report form, regardless of who is at fault. Note that insurance coverage is void if the driver is found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, making the renter responsible for all related damages.
